I did my internship at Manhyia district hospital in Kumasi, Ghana where I was more than welcome. I was able to see different surgeries and even assist the surgeon. The most wonderful experience I had in the hospital was helping with the delivery of a baby. Besides these great experiences we saw how big the lack of equipment in the hospitals still is. Together with two other girls I raised enough money to donate an AED to the hospital (can you even imagine that there is no AED in a hospital?). It was beautiful to see how thankful all the staff members were

First I can tell you: this was the most amazing experience I have ever had and maybe ever will have. I spent 6 weeks in the SDA Hospital in Kumasi, Ghana. Every week I joined a different ward where I was more than welcome. Besides the work in the hospital we went to two different orphanages, both with 70 people, to give them hepatitis B vaccinations. Amazing to do something for these disabled kids and victims of social disabled families. In the end I can say I have seen all different parts and social layers have in Ghana and I will carry all these memories with me for the rest of my life.

I had the experience of a lifetime during my 7 weeks in Ghana! I will cherish every memory I shared with my new amazing friends. I am truly thankful for the opportunity I had to impact the lives of those in need while gaining valuable medical experience. Ma Dasi Ghana (thank you Ghana in Twi, the local language)!'

After more than 40 days in Ghana learning in the hospital, living the best experience of my life with the best traveling companions, enjoying a totally different culture, making sure that the children of the different orphanages we visit are vaccinated and treated against hepatitis and traveling around the country, today I had the opportunity to assist in a surgery, an experience that I'll never forget

After six weeks in Ghana it is time to go home!

I had a great experience here in Ghana.

I've worked in two different hospitals in Kumasi in which I learned a lot about the organization of the health care system, but I was also able to use and expand my medical knowledge for example by observing surgeries, assisting in various small procedures in the emergency unit, seeing deliveries and examine newborns on the mother and baby unit.

Moreover, I fundraised together with a group of other interns for Hepatitis B vaccinations for people in need.

Again many thanks to all people who contributed to make the outreaches happen.

Lastly, I got to know so many wonderful people - from Ghana and from around the world!

Thank you all for making my time in Ghana so special!
